There have been many times in my life where I truly thought that life couldn't get any better. As I stand now at the end of the decade, I look back at the "2010s" in awe.
In 2015, I retired, moved to Colorado, and bought my first house. It was a year of transition which brought with it so much excitement. I began working more with Fitter and Faster which allowed me to find new passions I never knew I had. I also started attending Deer Creek Camp and leading their X-Stream Swim Camp.
There were so many times in my life where I thought "How could anything ever top this?"...
NONE OF IT was as great as 2019!
This year I got engaged in February to my best friend and the love of my life. We had our dream wedding in September. Two days later we moved to Reno for my husband's dream job. We bought our dream house (with my dream kitchen), dream couch, and our dream car. I have my dream job where we almost doubled our revenue from last year.
This year has been the best year of my life and I have so many people to thank. First is God from whom all blessings flow. A close second would be Jake for choosing me, marrying me, and loving me so well. Then my parents (Wendy & David) for always supporting me and for giving us our dream wedding. Finally David Arluck for believing in me and helping me find my calling outside of the pool.
All of these 'ups' didn't come without 'downs'. You'll notice there are years I didn't mention. Years of constant disappointment and struggling with loneliness and anxiety. Sometimes it was hard to believe I could ever be happy or loved. Fortunately, I serve a God who whispers in my ear to get up every time I fall and I stayed a warrior in prayer telling God exactly what I wanted out of life.
Matthew 7:7 says "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you."
My prayer for 2020 is to recognize how truly blessed I am! I am going to enter into the new decade with gratitude in my heart for all that I have been given. I also pray to not get comfortable. I pray for God to help me find even more ways to grow and use me for his purpose in 2020. Even though 2019 was an amazing year, I truly believe we're just getting started.
Cheers and Happy New Year Everyone!
